Our corporate offices are in Bellevue, Washington. We have several branches, throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah and Montana. We also consistently service a variety of customers in Alaska and Hawaii.

Our History

H.D. Fowler Company has a storied history dating back to the early 1900s when it was established by the visionary Harold D. Fowler, affectionately known as “H.D.”

After World War II, H.D.’s son, Doyle Fowler, brought his talents to the company, focusing on developing the waterworks sales division. The legacy continued as Doyle’s son Harold, referred to as “Hod” by those close to him, became the company’s third president and spearheaded its growth, expanding operations in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, alongside his brother Jay and sister Dayle.

Today, H.D. Fowler stands as a testament to longevity and success, now under the capable leadership of its fourth generation, with Hod’s son Jed Fowler at the helm as president.

1911

Harold “H.D.” Fowler starts his long career in the waterworks industry joining his father C.E. at an office located in the Pioneer District of Seattle.

1911

H.D.’s first project was in Tacoma where he constructed the river dam and built the tunnel pipe connections on the Green River Head Works project.

1920

H.D. forms Fowler Engineering and becomes a sales rep for various manufacturers including Pittsburg Des-Moines Steel Company covering Washington, Oregon, and California.

1930

Fowler Engineering becomes The H.D. Fowler Company.

1935

The H.D. Fowler Company becomes a partnership and moves to an office space at 558 1st Ave. South in Seattle, WA.

1945

Max Campbell is made partner and leads the process department.

1947

The H.D. Fowler Company becomes incorporated.

1957

H.D.’s son, Doyle Fowler, becomes the company’s 2nd President.

1962

The H.D. Fowler Company moves to its present location at 13440 SE 30th St. Bellevue, WA during the construction of Interstate 5.

1981

Second branch opens in Olympia, WA.

1984

The H.D. Fowler Company expands into Oregon starting with the Clackamas branch.

1986

Doyle’s son, Hod Fowler, becomes the company’s 3rd President.

1995

The Fabrication Division is created.

2000

The H.D. Fowler Company, Inc. expands into Eastern Washington, opening the Spokane branch.

2002

The Mechanical Division is created.

2003

The H.D. Fowler Company, Inc. expands into Central Oregon, opening the Redmond branch.

2010

The H.D. Fowler Company spreads into new territory, opening branches in, Southern Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.

Present

Today, The H.D. Fowler Company is one of the oldest and largest independent, family-owned distributor of waterworks, irrigation, pumps and wastewater treatment equipment in the Pacific Northwest – and one of the largest in America.
